Can Dogs Eat Peas?
Why it’s fine
Green peas, snow peas and sugar snap peas all provide vitamins, minerals, fiber and plant protein, and pea protein is a common dog-food ingredient. Dogs with kidney issues should limit them because of their natural purines.
How to serve it safely
Serve fresh or thawed frozen peas, plain. Mash or flatten them for small dogs — frozen peas are slippery little choking hazards.
When to call the vet
If your dog has kidney disease, ask your vet before adding peas to the diet.
Common questions

Yes, thawed or straight from the freezer. Flatten a few first for very small dogs.
Can dogs eat pea pods?
Snow pea and sugar snap pods are fine — soft and edible. Harder garden pods are best removed.
